AGE REQUIREMENT: Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by an adult. This includes all events (lessons, practices, meets, matches)
Klahaya Swim & Tennis Club was established in 1958 as a facility where families could gather to enjoy swimming, friendships, and other activities. We undertook a major remodel of the facilty in 2008.
Presently there are 240 families. We are open from the middle of May until the middle of September. We have a varied schedule offering a Swim Team, Tennis Team, Lessons, Open Swim, Adult Lap Swimming, an Adult Swim Team, and many social activities.
CORRECTION: The list below is the correct version to review - the prior version included hours from before 2018. Please recheck the list. We apologize for the confusion. For those of you that have added your hours since yesterday - they will be included in the final tally. Thank you for taking care of that so promptly.
Please review the volunteer hours that we show reported in our system. This year all volunteer reporting was done online, those that do not fill out the online form will be charged. A reminder that the volunteer commitment is as follows:
2 Hours for All Members
Additional 4 Hours for Swim Team Members
Additional 1 Hour for Tennis Team Members
If your child participated in Swim and Tennis - your total commitment was 7 hours. If just Tennis Team, 3 hours and just Swim team, 6 hours.
NOTE: If you reported hours in the last week - they may not be included on this list - we will add them when we do the final tally. When you report your hours - they are entered into a database that we download and compared against your hours owed. This list only reflects what YOU have entered, we do not enter hours for volunteers this year as we have done in the past. If hours are missing, YOU must enter them no later than the deadline listed below.
There will be ice cream sundaes at Klahaya this Sunday, September 9 from 3:00 - 3:30PM! We still have ice cream and sweet toppings from different summertime activities at the Club and we want to invite your family to come enjoy a summery treat.
Join us on Closing Day as we end the season with friends and sundaes on Sunday!

Hello Klahaya families,
It’s time to prep our courts for summer youth and adult play. Specifically we need assistance with putting up our canopies outside the lower courts and cleaning up the courts up top (Old Woodway).
Please check out the following link to sign up. We need 6 people from 8:30 - 10:30. We will start up top and finish below. We need the following supplies for the job: a gas leaf blower (the club has one, but we need an additional one), brooms, shovels (2), and hammers (2), weed killer.
We're using SignUp.com (the leading online signup and reminder tool) to organize our upcoming activity.
Pre-Season Adult Hits/Drop-in Tennis
Adult Tennis Kick-Off Potluck/BBQ - Monday, June 25th
New Tuesday Doubles
Adult Clinic Dates
KLA vs. Innis Arden - doubles matches & potluck - date TBD
After this beautiful May, we can think of nothing better than hitting the Klahaya courts with friends. While the official adult season begins with doubles on Monday, June 25th at 6:00PM and runs through August 13th, please come out for some informal games on Monday, June 18th.
To kick off the official start of the adult tennis season, we will be having a pot-luck/bbq immediately following doubles play on Monday, June 25th. If it rains, we will just push the event to the following Monday. A reminder will be sent out the week before the event.
Because of the popularity of Monday hits, we are adding a few additional evenings where adults can take over the courts. If you did not get your fill on Monday, please drop in on the following Tuesdays: July 3rd, 17th and 31st and August 7th. These are all non-home swim meet evenings. Parking will be readily available. There will not be a instructors present during these Tuesdays, but we are confident that everyone can sort themselves onto the courts.
Fitness tennis begins Wednesday, June 27th and runs through August 15th from 7:00PM - 8:00PM. All skill levels/abilities welcome. Prepare to get your sweat on while honing basic tennis skills. If you haven’t tried fitness tennis yet, you must. If you have come out before, you are already addicted!
Adult clinics will be held July 2nd, 16th and 30th from 5:00PM - 6:00PM. There will be a sign up sheet in the KLA lobby. The cost of this class is $10/person. Drop-ins welcome as long as class size hasn’t exceeded 18. This is a terrific (an inexpensive) way to build your tennis skill-set.
Our adult match against Innis Arden was such a hit last year that we will be repeating it this year. The specifics are still being finalized. Will send an update as soon event details are confirmed.
Looking forward to a great Klahaya tennis season. Please feel free to contact Jennifer Combs with any questions, firstname.lastname@example.org.

It's Peter Reni here, friendly neighborhood tennis pro. I have pretty awesome news for all of my tennis people.
Every summer, people ask me about playing indoor tennis during the winter, and for good reason. Playing year round is really important for kids to develop into competitive players. It doesn't have to be a lot, even once or twice per week makes a big difference.
The problem is, playing all year round isn't free. There are a number of awesome clubs to play at, but one has reached out to me to offer Klahaya members a discount on all of their junior tennis programs.
Forest Crest Tennis Club joined our summer league this year and is under the command of their pro, Josh Basha. He's a very highly ranked player and an accomplished coach. Many of our older players play at his club, and he's even hired several of our kids to be assistant coaches for him. He's a really nice guy, an awesome coach, and a friend of the club. I highly recommend him.
For our younger players, he offers the USTA recommended "color" balls programs. This is a very cool thing that I hope to have up and running at Klahaya in a few years. It will be different from what your kids are used to at Klahaya, but once the kids get used to using slightly different balls, they will see that the game of tennis opens up for them much quicker than it does with normal balls.
I've attached his offer below. Check out his programs, and make sure to wear your Klahaya gear over there to let him know what's up!
