Klahaya has consistently had the best tennis in the North End Junior Tennis League. Our head coach, Peter Reni, will be assisted by Mya Towne and Alicia Miller. The coaches are looking forward to a great year. The many benefits of belonging to the team include:
- lots of practice
- league matches on Wednesdays in June & July
- all ability levels welcome
- tennis ladder, social events, team shirts, and year-end finale
- junior & intraclub tournaments
- Family Doubles tournaments
Parents will be required to drive to away matches according to Club insurance policies. Parents will also be required to provide snacks for match days. Any questions: contact Peter Reni tenniscoach@klahaya.net.

NOTE: Klahaya no longer has the family discount.
We play against other clubs in the North End. The coaches will help you determine which practice to attend. Details regarding practice times and levels will be available at registration (see CLUB CALENDAR for details).

Tennis
team workouts are one June 13 and June 20 and NOON. Depending on ability,
only the coaches will determine which team your child will be placed in.

Klahaya Tennis – 2009 It’s the People!
I was asked recently what is it about Klahaya that draws me back each summer. The response was immediate and a no-brainer: The People!!! The staff, coaches, young players, adults, parents, and the spirit among the families draws my family each summer back to what is good, right, and wholesome. Since 1990, we have been privileged to be part of the Klahaya community. I have been an eyewitness to kids growing up, heading off to college, completing college (some even playing college tennis) returning home, getting married, having their own kids, and so on. Each have said the same thing to me: “My Klahaya days were some of the best memories of my life!” Is it the tennis? Partly. We run a strong program. Our coaches are Klahaya born and red. With Peter Reni heading our tennis team (United States Professional Tennis Association certified – way to go, Peter!!!) with Mya Towne (Whitworth University Collegiate Tennis Player – way to go, Mya!!!), and Tristan Reni rounding out the tennis instructors, your kids are in good hands. Is it the culture? Partly. We want to be excellent in what and how we teach, but we have desired to build a culture where character counts. Nobody stepping on the tennis courts has to prove a thing. Everyone is accepted and valued for who they are, not what skills they bring to the program. Is it the fun people have? Partly. Last summer the coaches created a World Team Tennis League called The Klahaya Cup with unique team names, purple and red banners, golden shoes, costumes, chants, scoring, and more! There were theme days, tickets for prizes, laughter, and old-fashioned fun. There was Cardio Tennis for the adults that allowed us to listen to the best of the 1970’s without anyone calling us old! And so much more!
Is it the people? Most definitely! The relationships formed on the tennis courts are lasting and memorable. Come be part of Klahaya Tennis – 2009!
